Get to Know Molly
Molly Elizabeth is a eighteen-year old international women's ready to wear designer based out of Fort Collins, Colorado. By age eighteen, Molly has become one of the most notable teen designers, in addition to recently starting her online e-commerce brand Molly Elizabeth Designs LLC.
This past year, Molly was chosen out of thousands of applicants to premiere on Lifetime's Project Runway Junior, where she received the opportunity to expand her industry networks, including mentorship from fashion icon Tim Gunn, Sports Illustrated Model Hannah Jeter, Fashion Critic and Designer Kelly Osbourne, CFDA Luxury Designer Christian Siriano, and Executive Fashion Director of Seventeen and Cosmopolitan Magazine's Aya Kanai. Molly began sewing around the age of 8 and by 15 was showing her first collection on the runways of Omaha and Kansas City Fashion Week. The following year Molly was invited to showcase her SS16' collection on the international runway of Vancouver Fashion Week. Not only was this a great outlet for Molly to showcase her brand to the world, but she was featured in nationally renowned publications such as Girls Life Magazine- the article described what it's like being a teen fashion designer and entrepreneur.
Now in the eye of the public, Molly has been featured in publications such as Seventeen Magazine, while recently making an appearance on the Harry Connick Junior Show. Molly's design expertise continue past the runway, as she has experience in all sectors of the fashion industry from modeling, web design, merchandising, marketing, runway-show production, model casting, and judging. This year Molly will be judging the 2017 FCCLA Fashion Design competition, where she placed Gold in 2016 at the national level. During the fall of 2016 Molly interned with Colorado Resort Wear Designer, Stephanie Carlson, assisting with runway shows, production preparations, and arranging events such as trunk shows. Most recently, in February of 2017 Molly Elizabeth was invited to showcase her Fall/Winter 2017 collection on the nation's largest runway at New York Fashion Week. Most recently Molly won first place in the 2017 Young Entrepreneurship Tournament with her business plan for her company, Molly Elizabeth Designs LLC.
In her free time, Molly enjoys photography, shopping, hanging out with friends, traveling, and speaking to the youth about the importance of doing what you love, finding your passion, and taking that passion and running with it; it's all about dreaming big. In March of 2017, Molly was the Keynote speaker at the Summit Girls Conference with Olympic Gold Medalist, Missy Franklin. Molly spoke about the importance of following your dreams no matter how old you are and whatever might stand in your way; "break the traditional boundaries of innovation to prove what is possible"- Molly Elizabeth.
